Equipment - Cobra I/HX

Cobra I/HX £563 (s) £667(g)

Design and Tech Benefits

Building on the awesome success of their SZ series driver, the boffins at Cobra are developing their range of irons for a serious attack on the market. It's the massive 'Sweet Zone' or more specifically the nine Accurate Points that the ad men are using to entice mid and high handicappers in for a dabble. Hit the ball from any of these nine points and they reckon you'll produce a respectable, accurate approach. If you're wondering what the XH stands for and you'd be mad not to, it's extra high launch - the kind that propels dodgy strikes up and away. They've also added injection urethane into the back of the head to absorb the vibrations from an off-centre strike.

GM VERDICT
An ultra forgiving set of sticks ideal for more consistent results from the fairway and rough. A slight tweak to the design in the cavity-back short irons offers improved feel for shorter approaches. Aimed firmly at mid and high handicappers, the 3400 I/HX offer consistency and control for an accurate attack on the greens.
